Write 31 Days (That’s a Wrap)

Well, I didn't exactly succeed at writing for all 31 days of October but I did write more than half the month so that's worth something I think. 😊 Here are four things I learned by writing about encouragement this month:  Don't be anxious. Worrying does not help at all. It doesn't change your circumstances and it doesn't make anything better. Put your trust in God and let him take on your anxieties. Seek wisdom. Instead of worrying ask God for wisdom. He will guide you if you … [Read more...]

Encouragement for Stepmoms (Thankfulness)

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1 Whether you know it or your stepkid knows it you're one of the mosy influential people in his life. Since you're reading a blog about encouragement for stepmoms I'm going to bet that you care deeply for your stepkid. Are you thankful for him? Does he know that? Are you thankful for God's goodness and gave? Does your stepkid know that? Are you being a good model of giving thanks to God. Each night as I pray … [Read more...]

Encouragement for Moms of Littles (Joy in the Mundane)

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 As the mama of a little your days may seem mundane right now. Ask God to come along side you and guide your days at home. Your little won't be little forever! Each day with him is making a deposit into the kingdom of God. Let's Pray Father God, Some days it feels like all I do it's change diapers and lactate. I pray that you will use me for … [Read more...]

Quick Lit (Special Encouragement Edition)

Today I'm linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy for Quick Lit a series of short reviews on what I've been reading. To continue with my Write 32 Days theme of encouragement, here's a few books that have been encouraging me lately. Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World Emily P Freeman writes to show her readers how to be content in the here and now, and as Emily says stop letting "hustle hijack your soul." I love this: "Let’s take back the long days and the short years … [Read more...]

Rerun Tuesday: Encouragement

I wrote this post almost two years ago for the same reason I write most posts: because it's what I need to hear myself! One of our biggest worries and fears as moms/stepmoms is that we might be messing up our kids. We question our decisions and actions. I feel like as stepmoms we might second guess ourselves even more. As I wrote in the post from the past: Mamas, you are not messing up your kids. You may mess up now and again but you are not messing up your kids. You are human. You will … [Read more...]

Encouragement for Stepmoms (Marriage)

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:33 Marriage can be amazing but it can also be hard. Add in an ex-spouse and stepkid(s) and you get a whole other level of hard. Why is it so hard? Trying to co-parent with someone who you obviously don't see eye-to-eye with (since you are divorced!) is stressful. Trying to co-parent with someone that the love of your life has a past with is difficult. Jealousy and … [Read more...]
