Giving Grace Even When Kids are Grumpy

How can we show our kids grace even when they are in a bad mood.

Do you ever just feel grumpy? Do you forget to say please and thank you? Do you snap at the people you love? Confession: I do. Why is it then when the teenager is grumpy I get so bent out of shape about it?

I don’t like feeling this way. I need to ask God to change my heart. To help me give T grace.

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. James 1:19

Rather than get frustrated when he is grumpy, I should listen to him and consider why he is acting that way. Maybe there is a reason for his bad mood. Maybe not. We all get a little grumpy sometimes.

Being disrespectful is not ok but that’s not what I’m talking about here. Just when a bad mood is in the air I want to counter act it with light and grace. I certainly need my heavenly father’s help to do that!

How about you? Do you often reply to your grumpy kiddos with grace or do you also need help with that?
