Five Minute Friday: Mighty

Mighty to Save written by Ben Fielding & Reuben Morgan, Hillsong Church

“Mighty to Save”  lyrics written by Ben Fielding & Reuben Morgan, Hillsong Church

When people ask me how I am doing or what’s new or how I’ve been, my answer is almost always the same: busy. I’m busy trying to make everything around me go smoothly. Trying to take charge of my life and my family because I’m scared something will get messed up. I’m actually afraid I will mess it up. I feel weak and unimportant not at all mighty.

Do you feel like that too? Remember God is Mighty to save. Isn’t that the best news? I don’t have to be mighty because I belong to a God who is mighty. And he rejoices in me. In my weakness. In my everyday. In my doubt. My God is Mighty.

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”  Zephaniah 3:17 NLT.

  1. One of my best friends became stepmom to three a couple of years ago. I’ve watched in amazement as she’s leaned on our mighty God and thrived in her sudden, new role.

And the fact that, as you say, “I don’t have to be mighty because I belong to a God who is mighty”? Huge, good news, for all walks of life! Thanks for the reminder!

    • Thanks so much Stacy! I appreciate your words. I would love to hear more about your friend’s experiences so if she would like to share please give her my info. Thanks a bunch! Xoxo

  2. I became a step mom many years ago. We have 11 kids in all and I love each and every one of them. I consider all 12 of the grandkids, “mine”. I think the secret is to trust God and to love them. Each and every one no matter what the challenges. I have learned that every child deserves to be loved and wanted and cared for. Love your words today. thanks for sharing.

    • Thank you for sharing! I agree that the secret is to trust God and love them! Well said. I would love to hear any other advice you have for stepmoms! Thanks again. Xoxo
